SNS引っ越します New Social Media Platforms

これまでユーザーの情報の扱いがブラックボックスであること、フェイクニュースや詐欺広告や乗っ取りも放置されていること、何よりプラットフォーム側が意図するアルゴリズムに支配されるシステムであることに疑問や不安を感じながらも「利用者が多く便利」「無料で告知や宣伝ができる」と言う理由でMeta社のFacebookやInstagramを使用してきましたが、アメリカ政権の大きな変化の中でMeta社が「今後はファクトチェッキングをしない」と言うアナウンスや、政権に取り込まれたかのような状況が伺えること、AI技術の使用によって今まで以上にユーザーから見えないブラックボックスでの操作がブラック化すると思われることから、FacebookもInstagramもやめることにしました（YouTubeとXは元々好きになれず使っていない）。

これまでの長い間に培った多くの方とつながりを失うことはいろいろな意味で残念ではありますが、巨大になりすぎたプラットフォームに支配されることから一旦距離を置き、もう少し地に足のついた運営をしていると思えるプラットフォームに移ることにしました。

考えすぎかもしれないし、極東の庶民の私1人が使用をやめたからと言って何の影響も与えられないことは承知の上ですが、「ユーザーとして、消費者として意識的な選択をすること」も世の中を良い方向へ変える誰もが日々の生活の中でできるアクションなので行動に移すことにしました。

新しく使う下記のプラットフォームは認知度も低くユーザー数もFacebookやInstagramとは比べ物にならないくらい少ないですが、もしお使いの方がいらっしゃいましたらぜひつながってください。新しいSNSやリアルな場でのつながりを楽しみにしています。

【Important announcement】

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support in various forms, including following my account, purchasing the books I published, participating in events and workshops, and requesting arrangements for guiding or experience programs in Kamakura, Enoshima and neighboring towns.

The purpose behind creating the English guidebook 'Local Focus' was to provide a tool that connects individuals and small businesses—those who cherish local nature, culture, and community, and work with passion and conviction—with overseas visitors who, the production team, share the same respect for these values, rather than focusing on large corporations with significant influence or establishments offering trendy, Instagram-worthy menus.

While I have been using Meta platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Threads due to their convenience and large user base, I have harbored concerns about certain issues.

These include the handling of personal information, algorithms that prioritize advertisements over posts from acquaintances and followers, and more recently, worrying developments such as reports that Meta ended fact-checking which means posts containing discriminatory or violent content will no longer be moderated.

Most importantly, I feel that Meta’s platforms are increasingly misaligned with the original intent of our project.

For these reasons, I have decided to discontinue using Meta’s platforms.

(I have used YouTube or X either because I don't like their business model so I use Vimeo which I pay to use the platform instead of selling my privacy)
